Logotypes

The Abyss

A logo created for a personal website featuring translated interviews and articles about music, computer game development, and other creative interests.

The site’s name was inspired by my favorite musician at the time, Matt Foran a.k.a. Pancho Ripchord, whom I interviewed, making the logo both personal and editorial in nature.

Challenge

The challenge was to design a logo that reflects a broad range of topics while remaining cohesive and recognizable. It needed to feel personal and expressive, yet structured enough to work as a long-term visual identity for written content.

Solution

The logo combines playful illustration with a badge-like structure, referencing zines, indie media, and personal blogs. A restrained, hand-drawn aesthetic reinforces authenticity and curiosity, aligning with the exploratory nature of the site’s content.

Result

The final logo establishes a clear, memorable identity for the personal platform. It supports the site’s role as a curated space for interviews, reflections, and creative exploration across music and game culture.
