The Dark Mod is a standalone, community-developed game inspired by Thief. Players can create and publish their own missions, and the game includes dedicated localization tools.
In 2013, PC Gamer named The Dark Mod Mod of the Year.
Challenge
Creating a complete English-to-Russian localization for more than 100 missions. In addition to translating text, the work included localizing and adapting user interface elements and graphics.
Solution
Between 2014 and 2017, I translated and localized more than 100 individual missions into Russian.
Result
Around 95% of the localized missions are supported by the official launcher and can be downloaded directly through it. The remaining missions are available separately through community websites and forums due to technical limitations or decisions made by their original authors.
